Seniors and baby-boomers are unique compared to their predecessors of less than ten years ago. They are more affluent and in many cases as healthy and strong as they were in their 30’s. They are able and more willing to do things they could not do in their young adult lives or while raising a family. One of those things is traveling. They travel to many places that are a far reach from their reality. They travel to places that are the source of their being. The destinations are limitless. Some seniors and baby-boomers prefer the convenience of travel agencies.
There are travel services today that specialize in servicing senior travelers ages 50 and older. The services offer first class service that is designed around the needs and preferences of mature travelers. For example, if needed, an agency will provide ideal accommodations and itineraries that are paced to allow mature visitors to linger and enjoy the event while seeing as much as they desire to see and visit. The agencies provide these type accommodations if the travelers opt not to be part of a whirl wind tour that leaves them more exhausted when they arrive home than they were when they left for the trip. Prior to the trip, some mature traveler services provide extensive research into their destinations and report back to the traveler in the form of discussions, lectures, and even slide shows.
Travel agents such as airlines provide a few perks for mature travelers age 65 and older. Normally a flight ticket is non-refundable once purchased, not so with some airline services that wish to attract senior travelers. If needed, a senior traveler’s ticket may be fully refundable. Other accommodations are available for them which include wheel chair assistance and permitting family members to board early with them. The travel service agencies are eager to attract the seniors desiring to adventure out into areas they could only once dream about.
